practising for a whole life

The view from here ... Or here!
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein
chronicling my quarter life crisis
Now we see through a glass, darkly
rejuvenatement - not retirement
words and scribble.
Poor thing looks so tired and worn.
accepting the end perhaps
ah but you know it misses the waves.
Soon the rest ends
Oh, I love this one!
Oh, Bjorn — very nice!
Am starting to reach that point in life too. One more ride – one more walk – one more swim … but first, a little rest …!
Nicely done.
Bjorn, I guess even boats get tired. They lead rather a rough life. 🙂 — Suzanne
a known feeling .. wonderful metaphor of finite.
Sometimes a little rest is all any of us “old boats” need! 😉

I think that boat is dreaming of the ocean…
At least the one who rode in it.
I am looking forward to some warm waves the end of this month.
I shall be my own old boat. 😉
Hope your old boat is better than this poor boat…
Age is relative, I guess 😉
Seeing as I have been mistaken for my son’s wife…
Maybe I’m doing OK?
Sounds like it… 🙂
The silver and white hair creeping on my crown may tell a different story. But really how finite is one’s hair?
Though I have known some folks in their 90’s (women) who never colored their hair and it stayed full natural color up until perhaps the last six months…
And then their are those who have turned ‘grey’ at 16 – so then the question is ‘genetics’. And just how finite is a gene that keeps evolving… a humans seem to do.
Very charming.
Indeed!
Poignant words and how I feel as I still heal and wish I could be in the waves….
An inspired and utterly charming personification within a haiku.
A gorgeous haiku Bjorn. I love to use this one for our next Tan Renga Challenge if that’s ok?
I would love that 🙂
Since I saw this poem on the CDHK it already feels like an old friend. Which is fairly high praise, I think 🙂
